Meet your dog's new bestie! The Kelpy Bone is completely home-compostable, plastic-free and easy on the teeth and tummy. Made from 100% plants and seaweed, I am hard enough to withstand playtime with your pooch but natural enough that I break down in your backyard overtime. I'm great as a form of enrichment (always supervised) and great for dental hygiene. 

Kelpy Bone uses seaweed material so your pup doesn't have to chew on those plastic chew toys any longer. We're doing our part by stocking planet-friendly, safe and healthy to ensure that future generations (both two-legged and four-legged) aren't drowning in plastic. Because your dog deserves toys that aren't made from harmful, planet-wrecking plastics!

Each bone is 140mm length, 60mm in width, 22mm in height

Materials

Made from Notpla Rigid. But what's that? Seaweed-derived polymers (alginates from seaweed), combined with natural plant-based binders and mineral fillers for strength and rigidity.

will my dog destroy this?

To be honest, yes eventually — and that’s kind of the point. We've recently added this product to our store by popular demand. Something to keep the power chewers occupied, but also safe, and plastic-free.

It’s made to be, chomped, and loved to bits. The good news? It’s crafted from seaweed and plant material, so when the inevitable happens, at least it’s not plastic crap all over your house, or worse yet in your dogs belly.

How long will it last?

As an all natural product so just as a stick would they will crumble away (they're designed them not to splinter!). They are sturdy enough for everyday play and chewing, but longevity depends on your dog’s play style; gentle chewers will get weeks of use, while super-chewers may wear it down faster. Either way, when it’s done, it’s safe to compost and is a safer alternative than plastic toys. 

can my dog eat it?

Kelpy Bones aren’t food, so they’re not meant to be eaten. However, we know dogs will eat even their plastic toys so if your dog does manage to ingest small pieces, don’t panic—it’s non-toxic and safe. Just be sure to supervise play, as with any toy. 

why seaweed

Seaweed is a climate hero and is great for pups health. It grows quickly without fertilisers, cleans ocean water, and stores carbon while it grows. By choosing seaweed-based products like Kelpy Bone, you’re helping reduce reliance on plastics and supporting a healthier planet.

is it compostable?

Because it’s made from seaweed and other natural materials, Kelpy Bone is home compostable. If left alone, it breaks down naturally and returns to the soil; no microplastics, no mess, just the way nature intended.

can i use it outside?

Definitely! Kelpy Bones are great for the backyard, beach, or park. Just keep in mind that if left outside for long periods, nature may start to compost it a little faster.

Together, we can minimise the use of unnecessary plastics.

When your Kelpy Bone has had its fun, simply pop it in your home compost or green waste bin. Even if it ends up in the environment, it will break down naturally, as nature intended no long-lasting microplastic plastic pollution.

All orders are sent in recycled and/or recyclable mailers, secured with compostable packing tape.

Your products are packaged in recycled and/or recyclable packaging.

If re-using or repurposing your packaging such as jars or satchels please be sure to wash thoroughly with warm soapy water.

We kindly ask that you do your bit by recycling and composting appropriately.
