Chicken and Carrot with Chia meal 200g is Jack & Chelo's OG meal, and their very best seller!

The Jack & Chelo Chicken & Carrot meal is cooked sous vide (in bag), at low temperatures to retain flavour and nutrients.

This was the very first meal that Chef Esther created for her fussy dog Chelo. It is still to this day the best seller. The chicken in this meal is 100% Tasmanian RSPCA approved, and includes whole chicken breast pieces which you can actually see, and which we know your dog will certainly love! They make sure to add chicken offal including both liver, heart and gizzards which are all essential for muscle growth and energy. They contain nutrients that plain chicken breast meat does not, so it is essential that these play a role in your dogs diet. Meal also include nutritional veggies such as carrot, celery and parsley for fibre and good digestion. Chia seeds and a dash of cod-liver oil ensures that vitamin D levels are good, and that omega 3 fatty acids are in plentiful supply for your dogs skin and coat. Lastly, Jack & Chelo include their secret ingredient, their very own "in-house" made chicken bone broth (also available for purchase). The broth is cooked long and slow to extract not only vital nutrients, but heaps and heaps of flavour. This meal contains no other proteins, so is popular amongst the "fussy" eaters who refuse to eat anything but chicken! Yummo!

Jack & Chelo Chicken & Carrot meal is formulated by a registered pet nutritionist to meet and exceed the requirements for Adults and Puppies according to AAFCO and NRC levels.

How do i serve it?

Keep your meals frozen, then pop one in the fridge to defrost ready for dinner. Forgot? No stress! We recommend placing the sealed meal in a bowl of warm water, where it should defrost in around 5 minutes. Serve as is, or incorporate it into your dog's usual feeding routine.

i already cook their food

That's great! Think of Jack & Chelo as an easy way to save yourself some prep time, have ready in case of emergencies or adding a little more variety to the rotation. If your go-to is meat with fillers like rice or pumpkin to bulk out the bowl, Jack & Chelo meals bring together human-grade Tasmanian meat with vegetables, legumes and superfoods, so you're getting more ingredients in every meal.

Can i mix it?

Absolutely. Jack & Chelo recommend feeding the appropriate whole pouch per day based on your dog's weight range (these 200g pouches are ideal for 15kg doggos), but they also suggest splitting the meal and adding it to dry food, raw meat, bones or bone broth. Remember to take treats and other food into account when working out your dog's overall daily intake.

Why frozen?

Jack & Chelo make their meals fresh every week in small batches in their certified commercial kitchen in Hobart. They're cooked sous-vide at low temperature, then frozen immediately. There are no added preservatives, so freezing keeps the meals fresh until you're ready to serve them.

Freezing means we can get it safely to us here in South Melbourne, as well as ensuring shelf life for you at home.

how much should i feed?

There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Age, weight and activity level all matter. Nutritional information and kilojoule count for each recipe can help guide feeding. As a general rule of thumb our 200g pouches are 1 x meal for a 15kg doggo.

If you're unsure about your dog's individual dietary needs, have a chat with your vet.

can i mix & match the 7 pack?

Absolutely. Pick any combination of Beef & Beets, Chicken & Chia and Wallaby & Egg to build your 7 meal box.

why 7?

Because deciding what's for dinner every night is annoying enough when you're feeding yourself. Grab seven and you've got a week's worth sorted. Plus you'll save compared with buying them individually.

Save $6.30 on your 7 pack. It's pretty much a free meal on us!
